Baird, Mabel (28 December 1874 - 28 April 1957) 
 

Mrs. George (Mabel) Baird, 82, of 506 Cedar St. Marshfield, formerly of Neillsville, died April 28, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Meyer. 
 

Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Congregational Church in Neillsville, with the Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiating.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral Home. 
 

Mrs. Baird was born December 28, 1874, at Clarence, Ia., the daughter of the late Hiram and Martha (Ireland) DerWell.  She received her education in Iowa, and on February 28, 1895, she was married to George Baird at Clarence.  Following their marriage they operated a farm and Mr. Baird did carpenter work.  In 1920 they moved to Clark County and located on a farm.  She had made her home with her children since the death of her husband on March 26, 1946. 
 

Surviving are five children: Mrs. M. J. (Grace) Budde, Arpin; Mrs. William (Esther) Crocker, McFarland; Mrs. Edwin (Mildred) Meyer, Richard Baird and Delbert Baird, all of Marshfield; a brother Howard DerWell of Clarence, Ia.; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held May 1, for Mrs. George (Mabel) Baird of Marshfield, from the Congregational Church in Neillsville. The Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiated and interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. 
 

Pallbearers were Louis Korth, Raymond McKimm, Robert Prochazka, Carl Eslinger, Henry Becker and Frank Miller. 
 

Out of town relatives attending were Mr. and Mrs. Richard Baird and family, Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Budde, Mr. and Mrs. James Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Meyer and family, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Baird, Miss Phyllis Benz, Donald Wunrow, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Korth, Raymond McKimm, Grace Mancl, Mrs. Axel Lundgren and Mrs. Otto Trachte, all of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Urban Zimmer, DePere; Mr. and Mrs. W. Crocker and family, McFarland; Mr. and Mrs. Howard DerWell, Harold DerWell, Vern Freeman, all of Clarence Ia.; Mrs. Harry Spear, Tipton, Ia.
