Ambelang, William (Retired -
1957)
William Ambelang, who recently was
retired as chairman of the Town of Hewett after serving the town
for 23 years, was guest of honor Sunday afternoon at a picnic held
at Wildcat Mound County Park. He was presented a platform
rocker and a purse of money. Mr. Ambelang delighted the group
with a talk in which he recounted events of the days gone by.
Mrs. Ambelang also was an honored guest.
Mrs. Wilson Bohnhoff and Mrs. William
Sollberger were the committee on arrangements and also made plans
for the gifts. Several of the group took still pictures and
motion pictures also were taken, which are to be shown later. About
60 guests in all were present. The group included many former
neighbors and friends.
Included were: Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ambelang, son and daughter-in-law
who live in the Town of Hewett, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mohr and
daughters, Beatrice and Dorothy and son George and Mr. and Mrs.
Albert Sollberger, all of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Wetzel,
Mrs. Louise Schmidt and daughters, Mrs. Helen Evans and Miss JoAnn
Nemitz, all of Pine Valley; Mr. and Mrs. Chester Klatt of Alma
Center, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kolbrak and son Larry of
Altoona.
