Shramek, Mary Marie (7 December 1894 - 8 May 1957) 
 

Mrs. Charles Shramek, 62, of Rt. 1 Neillsville, died May 8, at the Neillsville Memorial Hospital, where she had been admitted the evening before following a cerebral hemorrhage. 
 

Mary Marie Karela was born December 7, 1894, in Bohemia, the daughter of the late John and Barbara (Bryek) Karela.  When she was six years old her family came to the United States and located in Chicago. She received her education there and worked for Western Electric Company for several years before her marriage to Charles Shramek of Chicago on June 17, 1919, at North Judson, Ind.  They moved to Clark County 36 years ago and have lived on their present farm in the town of Washburn for 34 years. 
 

Mrs. Shramek was a member of the Western Bohemian Fraternal association, the Happy Homemakers Club and the American Legion auxiliary. 
 

She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Mrs. Arlo (Mildred) Lawson of Rt. 1, Neillsville; and Mrs. Roy (Dorothy) West of Neillsville; six grandchildren: and the following sisters: Mrs. Frieda Holub, Neillsville; Mrs. Ida Tollar and Mrs. Sylvia Smith, North Judson, Ind.; Mrs. Blanche Paulsen, San Pierre, Ind.; and two step-brothers, Charles Komarek, Chicago and John Komarek, Chicago. 
 

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church.  The Rev. Albert Guthmiller officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.  The services were arranged by the Bergemann Funeral Home. 
 

Pallbearers were: Paul Ehlers, Ernest Horehled, Harold Junchen, William Rizner, Irving Stevens and James West. 
 

Out of town relatives attending were: Mr. and Mrs. Morris Paulsen, San Pierre, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Comarek, Brookfield, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Shramek, Three Oaks, Mich.; Mrs. Fred Shramek, Mrs. Anna Dvorak, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Shramek, and Miss Dorothy Shramek, all of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. William Shramek, Miss Jacqueline Shramek, Bensenville; Mrs. Lillian Krumpeck, Paris, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Shramek and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Shramek, Humbird; (it appears we are missing a few names here).
