Ruzic, Donnielle Ivana (Marriage - 15
June 1957)
June 15 was the date of the wedding of
Miss Donnielle Ivana Ruzic, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Ruzic of
Greenwood, Rt. 1, and Hilbert John Martens, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Scheffeck of Rt. 2, Greenwood.
The double ring ceremony was performed by
the Rev. Fr. Augustine Svete at the Holy Family Catholic Church,
Willard. The church was decorated with baskets of white and
pink peonies. White satin bows marked the pews as did poles
of mixed flowers.
The bride was given in marriage by her
father. For her wedding she wore the traditional white gown, the
full skirt of which was of nylon tulle and lace. The bodice of
nylon lace was trimmed with sequins and her finger tip veil, with a
scattering of clusters of beads, cascaded from a crown of sequins
and swansonia.
Mrs. Geraldine Ruzic attended her
sister-in-law as matron-of-honor. Mrs. Charles Martens and
Miss Judy Martens were her bridesmaids.
Bill Martens attended his brother as
bestman. Groomsmen were brothers of the bride, Ivan Ruzic and
Gary Ruzic. Ted and Tim Martens, brothers of the groom, were the
ushers.
A reception and dinner were held at the
Catholic Hall in Willard and a supper was served at the home of the
bride’s parents. Vases of roses and peonies decorated
the home and hall.
Mr. and Mrs. Mertens are graduates of the Greenwood school. Mrs. Martens also was graduated from the Eau Claire State College.
