Kessler, Elaine (Marriage - 15 June 1957) 
 

Two daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kessler of Neillsville were married June 15 in a double wedding performed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Neillsville. 
 

Elaine became the bride of James D. Haas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Haas of Neillsville; and her sister, Mildred, was married to Ernest L. Schwellenbach of Rt. 3, Neillsville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schwellenbach. 
 

The Rev. Fr. Joseph Eisenmann performed the double ring ceremony. 
 

For their wedding the sisters selected gowns of sheer organza over taffeta. The floor length bouffant skirts were fashioned with court trains and sequin lace appliqué.  The tight fitting bodices with low neckline, trimmed with sequins, were complete with short sleeves and gauntlets. Their finger-tip veils of sheer illusion imported tulle with hand-rolled edges fell from pearl embroidered illusion caps. 
 

Both brides carried cascade bouquets of a white orchid surrounded by stephanotis. 
 

Miss Audrey M. Feirer was Elaine’s maid of honor, and attending her as bridesmaids were Mrs. Louis Kessler and Mrs. William Juneau. 
 

James Hannon of California was best man for Mr. Haas.  Louis Kessler and Charles Meyer were his groomsmen.  Ushers were Kenneth Kessler and Ralph Pitzrick. 
 

Both bride and groom are graduates of the Neillsville High School. The bride also attended a beauty school in Milwaukee, and has been employed as manager of a beauty shop in Marshfield.  Mr. Haas is a graduate of Stout Institute and is an industrial arts teacher in Barron Schools. 
 

Upon their return from a western wedding trip they will reside in Barron. 
 

Mildred’s maid of honor was her sister, Miss Angeline Kessler.  Her bridesmaids were Mrs. Leo Kessler and Miss Caroline Prock. 
 

Edward Schwellenbach was best man for his uncle, and Leo Kessler and Delmane Schwellenbach were groomsmen.  Carl Kessler and James Chadwick ushered.  
 

Mrs. Schwellenbach is a graduate of Neillsville High School and has helped with the work on the home farm.  The groom is a graduate of St. Andrew’s school at Potosi and is employed in Christie. 
 

Mr. and Mrs. Schwellenbach have left on a wedding trip to California.  On their return they will reside on Rt. 1, Neillsville. 
 

The Children’s Choir of St. Mary’s furnished the music for the double wedding.    
 

Following the ceremony, a dinner was served at St. Mary’s parish hall, and a reception was held at the Legion Hall.  A dance was held at the Silver Dome in the evening.
