Brooks, Dr. J. H. (? - 16 June 1957) 
 

Funeral services for Dr. J. H. Brooks, 86, of 206 Clay Street, who died June 16, were held from the First Congregational Church, June 19 at 2 p.m.   The Rev. Frank B. Harcey officiated.  Masonic rites also were conducted, with the Rev. Mr. Harcey as chaplain of Lodge No. 163 conducting.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.  
 

Mrs. Robert Peters and Mrs. B. H. Crissinger sang "My God and I."  Mrs. Jess Scott accompanied at the organ. 
 

Pallbearers were: W. H. Allen, Dr. M. K. Andresen, H. L. Brown, Charles Neff, Sr., D. E. Peters and Jess Scott. 
 

Honorary pallbearers were: Wm. a. Campman, Wells F. Harvey, Kurt Listeman, W. J. Rush, O. W. Schoengarth and W. L. Smith. 
 

Out of town relatives and friends attending included: Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ward of Wallingford, Penn.; Mr. and Mrs. James W. Brooks and family of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Welton Brooks of Cloverdale, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Flower of Charlotte, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Zindell of Darien; Mr. and Mrs. Vern Howard of Granton; and Col. Leo Jackson of King, Wis.
