Meier, Henry W. (15 JULY 1872-16 MAR 1947)
Henry William Meier, 74, passed away at his home here on Sunday, Mar. 16, after an illness of about four months. Death was due to pneumonia and complications.
Mr. Meier was born on July 15, 1872. He came to America with his parents when still a small child, settling first in Sheboygan county, and later coming to Clark county, residing here ever since. He was married in Loyal to Frances Brussow, who survives.
After his marriage, Mr. Meier lived on a farm north of Greenwood for four years and then lived on a farm north of Loyal for six years. After that, he came to Loyal , farming at the edge of the village for 26 years. He lived at his present home in the village the past four years.
Mr. Meier was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church. A son died in infancy.
Surviving relatives, besides his wife, include two brothers, Fred of Curlew, Wash. and Ernest of Seattle.
Funeral services for the deceased were conducted at the Trinity Lutheran church last Wednesday afternoon, the Rev. J. C. Langholz officiating. Burial was in the Lutheran cemetery here.
Pallbearers were Charles Clouse, Jake Hensler, Sr., William Kloszinski, Fred Kuester, William Luppnow and Ederick Wolf. In charge of the flowers were Mrs. Charles Clouse, Mrs. Jake Henseler Sr., Mrs. Walter Krahn, Mrs. William Kloszinski, Mrs. Fred Kuester, Mrs. Julius Rossow and Mrs. George Schoch.
Attend the funeral from out of town were: Fred Decker, Mrs. Goerke, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Busch. Mrs. Dill, and George and Henry Vivoda, all of Greenwood; Gilbert Decker of Fountain City; Otto Decker of Belvidere, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs.Arthur Decker and Mrs. Harold Phillips of St. Paul; Miss Leona Decker of Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Shortness of Sun Prairie; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Emmeper, Mr. and Mrs. August Emmeper and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Emmeper, all of Brillion; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Brussow of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Reich of Independence, and Dwain Brussow of Milwaukee.
The Tribune extends to the bereaved its sympathy in the loss of a beloved relative.
