Geraldine Kay "Geri" Maurer, 65, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at Ingle Living Communities, Mt. Horeb, after a long illness.
The former Geraldine Rufer, daughter of Lloyd and Helen (Riese)
Rufer, was born Feb. 16, 1944, in Monroe.
On Aug. 4, 1963, she was united in marriage to Eugene Maurer in Monroe.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Maurer, Belleville; her sons,
Michael Maurer, Ohio, Daniel (Silvia) Maurer, Kendall, and Scott
(Sue) Maurer, Belleville; grandchildren, Rebecca, Lucas, Cameron
and Nikayla Maurer; brothers, Rick (Mary) Rufer, Lena, Ill., Don
(Connie) Rufer and Gordy (Margie) Rufer, Monroe; and her
mother-in-law, Norma Maurer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Delores "Dori"
Buckingham; and father-in-law, Edwin Maurer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, at
the Becker–Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross, Belleville.
The Reverend Heidi Walker–Hackman will preside, with burial
in the Swiss Church Cemetery, New Glarus.
Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at
the Becker–Beal Funeral Home, 109 Greenway Cross,
Belleville.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to MS Research in care
of the Wisconsin Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1120
James Dr. Suite A, Hartland, WI 53029 in memory of Geraldine and
Dori.
