Mehner, Ernest B. Jr. (June 25, 1939 - December 22, 2009)

 
Ernest B. Mehner Jr., 70, Dorchester, died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.  
 

Ernest was born in Dorchester on June 25, 1939, to Ernest Sr. and Laura (Hurth) Mehner.   
 

He attended and graduated from Dorchester High School. After school he enlisted in the Army and later served n the National Guard.  
 

He married Shirley A. Miller on July 25, 1964. He was employed by Conceco Equipment until retirement.   
 

He was involved with both the Dorchester and Medford Methodist Churches. He was a 30 year member of the Black River Amateur Radio Club. Ernest took great pride in his town and especially enjoyed helping with the Dorchester Museum. In his spare time he repaired TV’s and radios.  
 

He is survived by his wife Shirley of 45 years; his two children, Lori (James) Aldinger, of Perkinstown, and Matthew (Kelly) Mehner of Wausau; three grandchildren; one sister, Rachel Jones of Milwaukee; and one brother, Bruce Mehner of Colorado.  
 

He is preceded in death by his parents.

 
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 2, at Salem Methodist Church in Dorchester at 2 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Michael Adedokun will preside. Visitation will be at the Maurina Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester on Friday, Jan. 1 from 4-7 p.m. and again at Church on Saturday one hour prior to the service. Following the service, full military rites will be conducted by Dorchester American Legion Post 517.
