Taylor, Joseph Henry (October 1, 1916 - December 22, 2009)

 
Joseph Henry Taylor, 93 of Colby formerly of Lorain, OH died Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Pine Ridge Assisted Living in Colby.   
 

Mr. Taylor was born October 1, 1916, in Cadiz, OH, the son of Joseph and Cynthia (Lewis) Taylor.   
 

He attended grade school in Cadiz, OH, and graduated from Cadiz High School.  
 

On June 18, 1942, he married Ruth Singer in Adena, OH.  
 

He worked for more than 38 years at General Industries Co. as a job setter and later in the maintenance dept.  
 

After his retirement in 1979, he and his wife relocated in the Colby area. He was a member of the Colby United Methodist Church, and enjoyed traveling with his wife. He was an avid bowler.  
 

Joseph is survived by his wife, Ruth, Colby; children Leslie (Gary) Stang, Curtiss and Nancy (Thomas) Talbot, Withee; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Alberta Douglas of Carmichael, CA. 
 

In lieu of flowers the Taylor family is requesting memorials be made to the Ministry Home Care Hospice of Marshfield in Joseph’s name.

 
A celebration of Joseph’s life will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 3, 2010 at Pine Ridge Assisted living in Colby. The Rev. Patricia Herdt will preside. Committal services will be at a later date.

 
In Lieu of flowers the Taylor family is requesting that memorials be made to the Ministry Home Care Hospice of Marshfield in Joseph’s name.
