Kluesner, Dave (8 August 1937 - 31
January 2010)
After an extended illness at home, Dave
passed away on January 31, 2010 at the Prairie Maison Nursing Home
in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin.
Dave was born on August 8, 1937 in
Dubuque, Iowa. His parents were Leander and Meta
Kluesner. Dave graduated from the Mar-Mac High School.
On June 19, 1957, he married Nancy Witter of McGregor, Iowa.
They are the parents of Jill (Steve) Anderson of Loda, Illinois,
Jody (Ron) Romag of Thorp, WI, Scott (Dawn) Kluesner of Combined
Locks, WI, Gina (Bill) Krzyzanowski of Neillsville, WI, and Hollie
(Mike) O’Neill of Marshfield, WI. Their grandchildren
are Morgan (Doug) Bonczek, Alyssa (Brad) Conley and Meg Anderson;
Nadine, Katie and Kristy Romag; Samantha, Drew and Grant Kluesner;
Glenna, Kelsey and Breanne Krzyzanowski and Amber and Austin
O’Neill. Dave is also survived by his sister, Dixie (J.
J.) Jackson, of Prairie du Chien; and one brother, Dennis, of
Marshalltown, Ia.
He is preceded in death by his parents
and a brother Dan.
While living in Iowa, Dave worked at the
Mc Gregor Bank, Mc Gregor Creamery and Weighner’s
Ford/Lincoln of Prairie du Chien. In 1967, Dave moved his
family to Thorp, WI to work for Thorp Finance, later ITT Life, and
moved the ITT life to Minneapolis, MN. From there they moved
to Omaha, NE where he was VP of Central National Insurance.
After a number of years, he relocated back to Thorp, WI to join a
new corporation, Benchmark Components, as director of sales, where
he worked until his retirement in 2003.
He and Nancy enjoyed their home on the
Mississippi River just north of Lynxville, WI.
Per Dave’s wishes, there will be no
visitation or services at this time. A celebration of
Dave’s life will be at 1 p.m. on July 3, 2010 at Riverfront
Park on Feriole Island, Prairie du Chien. A memorial fund has
been established and will be distributed as the family
chooses.
The Thornburg-Hanson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
