Schwarze, Ella Rose (6 March 1886 - 27
July 1957)
Mrs. Ella Schwarze, 71, of Greenwood died
Saturday afternoon, July 27, at the home of her sister, Mrs.
William Steiger, where she had been staying the last three weeks.
She became ill two years ago with a heart ailment, and had made her
home with her daughter, Mrs. Gilbert Rohde of Greenwood, until she
went to the Steiger home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday
afternoon from the West Side Evangelical and Reformed Church. The
Rev. Charles Koch officiated. Burial was made in the parish
cemetery.
Mrs. Schwarze, daughter of the late Henry
Humkes, was born March 6, 1886, in the Town of Warner and lived in
this vicinity all her life. Ella Rose Humke and Edward
Schwarze were married December 7, 1904, in the West Side Church.
After their marriage they farmed five miles northwest of here until
his death in October, 1950.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Gilbert (Lucille) Rohde of Greenwood; and two sons, Theodore of Marshfield, and Walter of Greenwood, and by 10 grandchildren, three sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Helena Rossman of Spokane, Wash.; Mrs. Meda Decker and Mrs. William (Alma) Steiger of Greenwood; Theodore , Arthur and George Humke of Greenwood.
