Assembly of God (New Pastor -
1957)
The Rev. Mander McPherson of Alma Center
has been engaged as the new pastor of the Neillsville Assembly of
God Church, and has moved his wife, Bonnie, and two children;
Matthew and Randy, into the home on East Fifth Street recently
vacated by the Rev. Bobby Friesen and his family.
Mr. Friesen resigned three weeks ago and
has moved his family to Marshall, Minn., where he will be pastor of
another church.
After a long delay in building program of
the proposed new church on Division Street, it is now hoped to
resume the work soon, probably this week. The district
superintendent, the Rev. Robert Spencer of Waupaca, was in
Neillsville Monday to try to get the work under way.
(I the transcriber used to be a member of that church, when I lived in WI and that building project never was done, and later the congregation bought the old Zion Reformed Church building at the corner of 5th and Clay.)
