Darton, Albert (8 June 1866 - 2 August
1957)
Arthur E. Darton, 91, a resident of Loyal
and vicinity since 1873, died at his home in the city August 2,
death being caused by old age complications.
He was born at Hartford, June 8, 1866,
and came with his parents to a farm in the town of Beaver when he
was seven years old. He retired in 1928 and moved into the
city of Loyal. His son, Hugh Darton, is on the home
farm. While living in Beaver he served on the school board of
his district and also on the Town board.
He was married to Olga F. Rossman at
Greenwood, January 1, 1896. He is survived by his wife; a
daughter, Mrs. Marcel (Claire) Ketchpaw of Bloomer; and a son, Hugh
of Loyal.
He was a member of the Loyal Methodist
Church.
Funeral services were held there at 2
p.m. Monday. The pastor, the Rev. Wendel Bennetts
officiated. Mrs. Byron Zepplin was organist, and James Colby
sang, "Jesus Leads" and "Abide With Me."
Pallbearers were: Herbert White, Otto
Goehring, David Smith, Harry Greve, Arnold Stumpner, and Edd
Dobbe.
Burial was made in the Loyal cemetery.
