Stempel, Viola (1904 - 14 August
1957)
Mrs. Viola (Barber) Stempel, 52, a native
of the Neillsville area and widow of the late George H. Stempel,
died in Geneva, N. Y., August 14, following an extended illness,
according to word received here.
Mrs. Stempel was born in Christie in
1904, was graduated from Neillsville High School in 1921, and left
that year with her family to make her home in Geneva. A
registered nurse, she was graduated in 1930 from the Geneva General
Hospital School of Nursing; but was employed by the Geneva Times
before her death and served as secretary-treasurer of the
typographical union there.
Funeral services were held August 17, and
burial was made in the cemetery at Naples, N. Y.
Surviving are three daughters, two sisters and two brothers.
