Funeral services for Mrs. A. J. (Blanche)
Allard, 83, of Glenwood City were held Wednesday afternoon from
Grace Methodist Church in Greenwood. Officiating were the Rev.
Ethel Nulton of Greenwood and the Rev. Carl Fox of the Methodist
Church of Glenwood City. Burial was made in the Greenwood
Cemetery.
Mrs. Allard a former Greenwood resident,
died October 20, in Baldwin.
Pallbearers were: John D. Wuethrich, John
and Arthur Syth, Francis and Fred Clintsman and Hugh
Christie. Mrs. Fred Huntzicker and Mrs. Fred Hohl sang,
"Nearer My God to Thee" and "Rock of Ages," accompanied on the
piano by Mrs. Donald Dixon.
Mrs. Allard, nee Blanche Manchester,
oldest daughter of John and Helen Manchester, was born April 28,
1874, in New Woodstock, N. Y. She was married there to Aldon
J. Allard on October 30, 1894. They resided there until
January 1900, when they came to Rib Lake and operated a jewelry
store for 24 years. In September, 1925, they moved to
Greenwood, where they operated a grocery store. Mr. Allard
died in November, 1940. Mrs. Allard resided here until 1946,
when she moved to Curtiss. She lived there or six years, then
went to Glenwood City, where she lived with Miss Nellie
Sharp.
Attending the funeral were her niece, Mr. H. D. Kennedy of Abbotsford, and many friends from Abbotsford, Curtiss and Glenwood City.
