Drake, Frank (24 February 1860 - 28
October 1957)
Frank Drake, 97, died Sunday afternoon in
Neillsville following a lingering illness.
Mr. Drake was born February 24, 1800
(1860), at Eau Galle, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harvey
Drake. He received his education in the Eau Galle Public
schools and later became a farmer, an occupation he followed most
of his life, with the exception of a short time when he operated a
grocery store in Eau Galle. In 1932 he retired and moved to
River Falls. Following the death of his wife, the former
Fannie Cowan, whom he married in 1889, he made his home with his
son, Russell Drake, of Neillsville.
He was a member of the River Falls
Methodist Church, and served as director of the Eau Galle Creamery
for many years.
He is survived by a daughter, Miss Vernie
Drake of St. Paul, Minn.; and two sons, Russell of Neillsville, and
Herbert of Eau Claire. Five grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren also survive.
(Some lines may be missing here), funeral
services were held Wednesday afternoon from the Segerstrom Funeral
Home in River Falls. Burial was made in the Greenwood
Cemetery.
The Bergemann Funeral Home had charge of funeral arrangements in Neillsville.
