Linster, Nicholas J. (22 November 1885 - 23 December 1957) 
 

A requiem Mass will be read Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, for Nick Linster, 72, a former Neillsville resident, who died December 23 in a hospital at Hustisford, following a short illness.  The Rev. Joseph Eisenmann will officiate, and burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery. 
 

Nicholas J. Linster, son of the late Nicholas and Margaretha Linster, was born November 22, 1885, in Welvingen, Luxemburg.  In 1886 the family came to the United States and located at Bakerville, in Wood County.  He received his education in the Bakerville School, and when he was a young man his family moved to Neillsville. 
 

For many years Mr. Linster operated a garage in the location where the Urban Sales and Service is now located.  In later years he was employed on the section crew of the Chicago and Northwestern railroad, working out of Neillsville.  He retired in 1954, when he went to Hustisford to make his home with his daughter and son-in-law. 
 

On July 5, 1916, he was married to Katherine Prock in Neillsville.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and of the Holy Name Society. 
 

Mr. Linster is survived by a daughter, Mrs. George (Genevieve) Gilmore, Hustisford; a granddaughter, Maureen Gilmore; and the following sisters and brothers: William Linster, Penn Yan, N. Y.; Alphonse Linster, Greenwood; Mrs. Margaret Blau, Neillsville; Mrs. Virginia Balhais , Bradenton , Fla.; Mrs. Ben (Susie) Thoma, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Mrs. Carolina Walker of Portland, Ore.  
 

A combined Holy Name and general rosary will be said Friday evening at the Bergemann Funeral Home.
