Tuomi, Gertrude (4 APR 1955)
The parsonage of Bethany Lutheran Church, Owen, was the scene of a quiet wedding ceremony performed at three o’clock Monday afternoon when Miss Gertrude Tuomi was united in marriage to Arne John Niemi. The couple repeated the nuptial vows after Rev. John Saarinen and before a group of immediate relatives and friends of the two families.
Mrs. Niemi wore a light blue suit with white accessories and carried a bouquet of pink roses. She was attended by Mrs. Eino Luoma, a sister to the bridegroom, who wore a beige suit with brown accessories and carried a bouquet of red roses. Mr. Niemi was attended by Eino Luoma, his brother-in-law, who served as best man.
That evening a reception was given the newlyweds at the home of the bride’s sister, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Christoffersen, at Westboro.
The bride is the daughter of John Tuomi, Westboro, while the bridegroom is a lifelong resident of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) and has been an employee of the city for the past several years.
