Craig, Harry (30 APR 1899 - 21 APR 1955)
Residents of the community were shocked this morning when they learned of the sudden death of Harry Craig, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) businessman, who was found dead in the furnace room of his Central Avenue Floral Shop by his wife at eight o’clock.
Death was due to a heart attack.
Mr. Craig had mentioned yesterday that he had a pain in his chest but continued about his work. This morning he awoke early and went to the depot at 6 o’clock to pick up a shipment of flowers. When he returned to the floral shop he again mentioned the pain in his chest. At the suffestion of his wife he laid down and rested for better than an hour getting up again at 7:30.
Again mentioning the chest pain he told his wife he thought he would take a walk believing the pain was from gas pressure, he thought he could maybe case it with a little exercise.
Funeral services are tentatively scheduled for two o’clock Monday afternoon from the Alliance Church with Rev. H. D. Wagner officiating. Burial will be made at Riverside Cemetery. Exact time of the services won’t be determined until the family hears from a son, Harry, who is on Guam Island.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, Harry, Ardyce of Minnesota and Wilbur of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Virginia, whose home is in California; two brothers, Frank of California and Newell of Racine; three sisters, Mrs. Harold (Mary) Bender, Mrs. Nellie Wilson and Mrs. Frank (Della) White, Owen.
A complete obituary will be published next week.
