Darling, Fred (5 July 1883 - February 1958)
 

Funeral services for Fred Darling, 74, of Neillsville, were conducted Saturday afternoon from the Bergemann Funeral Home.  The Rev. Virgil Holmes, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
 

Mr. Darling was born July 5, 1883, in Loyal.  His family moved to Neillsville when he was nine.  He followed the carpenter trade and for many years worked as a surveyor for Frank Hewett, old-time lumberman of the area.  He was married in November, 1912, to Ellen King of Neillsville.  He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge No. 1602.
 

He is survived by his wife and two sons, Merrill of Barnum, Minn., and Earl of Neillsville. Eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.  
 

Mrs. Virgil Holmes, vocalist, accompanied by Mrs. T. N. Thompson, sang "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Safe in the Arms of Jesus."
 

Pallbearers were members of (balance of the obituary were missed).
