Carpenter, Miss (11 JUN 1955)
Now residing at 2656 S. Winnkinick St., Milwaukee, are Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Sailer, who have just returned home following a honeymoon trip throughout northern Wisconsin.
The newlyweds exchanged the nuptial vows in a double ring ceremony performed at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 1955, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Oshkosh, with Rev. Earl Schub officiating.
For the occasion the bride chose a gown of chapel length imported Chantilly lace over satin, having a fitted bodice, portrait neckline adorned with pearls and iridescent beads. It was further enhance by long sleeves of imported lace and nylon tulle over the satin bouffant skirt. Her silk illusion fingertip veil was attached to a crown of Chantilly lace and seed pearls. She carried a white carnation cascade bouquet centered with a purple orchid.
She was attended by Ruth Sailer, sister of the groom, Oshkosh; Mrs. David Reabe, Hartford, a friend of the bride, and the bride’s sister, Doris Carpenter. The attendants wore similar gowns of Madonna blue crystalette with fitted bodices, yokes outlined with nylon tulle and nylon tulle over blue taffeta bouffant skirts. Each gown had a crystalette sash with a large back bow and crystalette jacket. Their headpieces were of matching nylon tulle tiara. Each carried a ….(the rest of my copy was cut off)
