Military Notes (1958) 
 

Six Clark County men recently completed eight weeks’ basic combat training at Fort Carson, near Denver, Colo.  They included:  
 

Pvt. James Telford, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Telford of Rt. 1, Owen, and a graduate of Owen High School; Pvt. John J. Blaskowski, Jr., 23, whose parents live on Rt. 1, Greenwood; Frank E. Pekol, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank F. Pekol, of Rt. 3, Neillsville; Alvin E. Lezotte, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Lezotte of Rt. 1, Neillsville; Pvt. Darrel R. Roder, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Janes D. Roder of Loyal, and a graduate of Loyal High School; and Pvt. Robert J. Mertens, 22, son of Mrs. Catherine Mertens of Rt. 2, Thorp, and a graduate of Thorp High School.
