Polzin, Ida (26 March 1876 - 10 June
1958)
Mrs. Ida Polzin, 82, Racine, died
suddenly June 10, 1958, at the home of her daughter, with whom she
had lived for the past 12 years. She was a former resident of
Neillsville. Funeral services are tentatively set for Friday
at 2 p.m. from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
The Rev. Alfred Schewe will officiate.

Mrs. Ida Polzin, 82, of Racine, died June
10, 1958, at her home. Funeral services were conducted Friday
from St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in
Neillsville. The Rev. Alfred Schewe officiated and burial was
made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Mrs. Polzin was born March 26, 1876, in
Pomerania, Germany, daughter of the late Julius and Ida (Wesenberg)
Scherbinske. She came with her parents to the United States
when 11 years of age. They located on a farm in Clark County,
where she spent most of her life. For the last 15 years she
has made her home with her children in Racine.
On May 28, 1892, she was married to
Ludwig A. W. Polzin at St. John’s Lutheran Church in
Neillsville.
She is survived by the following
children: Mrs. James (Meta) Pittman, Yerington, Nev.; Walter
Polzin, Vernon Polzin, Racine; Erwin Polzin, Los Angeles, Cal.;
Mrs. Emma Burg, Mrs. Russell (Minnie) Uphouse, Mrs. Franklin (Martha) Gregory, Racine; Alvin Polzin, Neillsville; 45
grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren also survive. She also
leaves one sister, Mrs. Mathilda Goebel, Racine.
Pallbearers were grandsons: Franklin,
Milton, Ralph Gregory; and Raymond, Walter, Jr., and Glenn
Polzin.
People from out of town attending were: Mrs. Emma Burg, Mr. and Mrs. Cal Wahlen, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Miller, Glenn Toms, Franklin Gregory, Walter Polzin Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Polzin, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Polzin, Raymond Polzin, Ralph Gregory, Miss Sandra and Richard Polzin, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Gregory, Myra Gregory, Janet and Joan Gregory, Eugene Ireland, Helen Gregory, Pearl Gregory, Mrs. Frank Gregory, Mrs. Myrtle Polzin and family, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Uphouse, all of Racine.
