Grasse, Anna Pauline (18 July 1879 - 14
June 1958)
Mrs. Anna Grasse, 78, who made her home
with her daughter, Mrs. Edward Hawkins, on Rt. 1 Neillsville, died
June 1, following a lingering illness.
Mrs. Grasse, the former Anna Pauline
Wagner, was born July 18, 1879, in Sheboygan County, the daughter
of the late Michael and Theresa (Oswald) Wagner. She attended
rural school there and on November 19, 1906, she was married to
Barney Grasse in Sheboygan.
They operated the Grasse Milk Company for
many years, and for several years Mrs. Grasse served as an officer
of the Grasse-Trimberger Loan Co.
About 11 years ago she came to make her
home with her daughter, Mrs. Hawkins of Neillsville and Mrs. Elmer
Baumgartner of Altoona. She was a member of Bethlehem
Lutheran Church in Altoona.
She is survived by the two daughters,
three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Mary Gaubatz, Chilton; and a
brother, Emil Wagner, Cleveland, Ohio.
Funeral services were held Tuesday in Sheboygan. The Rev. Walter Laesch officiated. Burial was made in the Wildwood Cemetery there. The body was taken from the Bergemann Funeral Home to Sheboygan late Saturday.
