Elmhorst, Geraldine Fay (Marriage - 7
June 1958)
Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church at
Granton was the scene June 7, of the wedding of Miss Geraldine Fay
Elmhorst, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Elmhorst of Granton,
R. 1, and Donald Scharf, son of Mrs. Edna Jahnke of Rt. 1,
Neillsville.
The Rev. Schreiber performed the double
ring ceremony before an altar banked with spring garden
flowers.
The bride, given in marriage by her
father, wore a floor-length gown of satin with four tiers of net
over all. The fitted bodice was sleeveless and was fashioned
of lace over satin, from which fell a chapel length train. A
finger-tip veil flared from the pearl and rhinestone encrusted
queen’s crown. She carried a bouquet of pink roses and
lily-of-the-valley.
Miss Catherine Elmhorst, a sister, was
maid of honor. The groom’s sister, Mrs. Richard (Florence) Wallace, was her bridesmaid. The bride’s
four-year-old sister, Barbara, was her flowergirl.
Best man was the groom’s uncle,
Clarence Scharf. Richard Wallace and Richard Elmhorst were
groomsmen.
A reception following the ceremony was
held at the home of the bride’s parents.
On their return from a wedding trip to
the western states they will reside in Granton.
The bride, a graduate of the Loyal High
School, is a nurse’s aid at Memorial Hospital, Neillsville;
and the groom, who was graduated from Granton High School, is owner
of Granton Electronics.
People from away attending the wedding were: Mrs. Carl Scheeler, Dick Scheeler, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Mead, Mr. and Mrs. James Scheeler, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Scheeler, all of Cazenovia; Mr. and Mrs. William Marg, Schofield; Mrs. Henry Strauman, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Hampton, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Kramer, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Briars, Helen McCabe, Deena and Richard Briars, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Elmhorst, Hercher, Ill.
