Lawrenz, Viola (06 SEPT. 1915 - 15 FEB 2010)
Viola Lawrenz, 94, Algoma, was called to her eternal rest on
Monday, Feb. 15, 2010. Friends may call at the Schinderle Funeral
Home, Algoma, on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 9:30 a.m. until the time
of services at 11 a.m. The Rev. John Moll will officiate.
Entombment will be at the Knollwood Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
Viola Bathke was born in Pierce township, Algoma, to Louis
and Mary (nee Jerabek) Bathke on Sept. 6, 1915. She graduated from
Algoma High School in 1933. She married Carl E. Lawrenz on Jan. 2,
1936, at St. John’s Lutheran Evangelical Lutheran Church,
Algoma.
In her early adult years, she was secretary to the
administration of the Loyal High School and Saint Joseph’s
School of Nursing, Marshfield. Later she and her husband owned and
operated Jumbo’s Drive In, Kewaunee, for 15 years and enjoyed
working with many fine young people.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Lynn (DonnaLou) Lawrenz, Algoma, and Dr. Lon (Peggy) Lawrenz, Tempe,
Ariz.; four granddaughters, Lychelle Lawrenz, Chicago, Ill., Sam (Mark) Prokash, Algoma, Lara (Dave) Folmer, Castalian Springs,
Tenn., and Amber (Aaron) Zaragoza, Mesa, Ariz.; two grandsons,
Damon (Jessica) Lawrenz, Kansas City, Kan.., and Trevor Lawrenz,
Tempe, Ariz.; two great-granddaughters, Abby Lawrenz, Kansas City,
Kan., and Akira Zaragoza, Mesa, Ariz.; six great-grandsons, Justin (Christine) Putnam, Kewaunee, Hunter and Booker Prokash, Algoma,
Andrew and Archer Zargaroza, Mesa, Ariz., and David Folmer lll,
Castalian Springs, Tenn.; one great-great- grandson, Landon Putnam,
Kewaunee; one sister-in-law, Ruth Ihlenfeldt, Kewaunee; one
brother-in-law, August Duescher, Maribel; one sister, Ruth Blahnik,
Crystal Lake, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Carl, in Oct. 2008;
her parents, Louis and Mary Bathke; her father-in-law and
Mother-in-law, August and Martha Lawrenz; two sisters-in-law,
Elaine Duescher and Pearl Lawrenz; five brothers-in-law, Reinhold
Rodrian, Ervin Moede, Davide Blahnik, Everett Lawrenz, and Dayton
Ihlenfeldt; one nephew, Mahlon Moede; and one niece, Elaine
Patton.
In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy, a
memorial fund has been established.

arrangements.
