Benson, Mabel Ruth (1958)
Little Mabel Ruth Benson,
eight-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Benson of Christie,
was pleased as punch when her mother dressed her all up in a new
hand-knit dress just received as an arrival present from an aunt in
Norway. Of fine-combed wool, the dress contains intricate
needle work that will interest women who know knitting.
Men will be more interested in the fact
that the postage on the dress was four crowns, 30 ore, which, we
are informed, is approximately $1.75 at the present rate of
exchange.
The dress (or Kjole) was a gift of Minda Gijernes of Vormsund, Norway, a great-aunt, who is in her late 60’s.
