Farley, Marie A. (18 JUN 1955)
A wedding trip to New Jersey followed the marriage, Saturday, June 18, 1955, of Marie Alice Farley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Farley, 1913 Quincy Av., Racine, and a former Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) resident, to Glenn Russell Abbott.
Rev. Jerome Miller performed the 7:30 p.m. ceremony at Atonement Lutheran Church. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Clydia Abbott, Wis. Rapids.
A reception at Fellowship Hall followed the ceremony. The young couple will live at 1935 Taylor Ave.
Mrs. Eleanor Kommer, the bride’s sister, was matron of honor and Mrs. Jeanette Hughes and Veryl Shimon, a sister of the bridegroom, were attendants.
James Abbott was best man for his brother and Dareld Kommer and Robert Hughes were groomsmen.
The bridal gown, designed by the former Miss Farley, was of Swiss embroidered nylon with a flounce skirt sloping into a train trimmed with satin embroidered nylon. Her open crown headpiece was trimmed with pearls and held a veil of French illusion. She carried stephanotis and a white orchid on her white and gold Bible.
Powder blue dresses of crystalline nylon were worn by the bridal attendants. The gowns were fashioned with flounces of netting to match the bride’s dress.
Mrs. Kommer carried deep red roses and the bridesmaids carried pale pink roses.
The mother of the bride was dressed in a dusty rose silk dress with a bodice of lace. The bridegroom’s mother wore a navy blue dress with all-over netting and pink accessories.
