Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schmidtke and Elgene attended a birthday party Wednesday evening in the Gordon Davis home in honor of the 80th birthday of Mr. Davis.

Gordon Davis

In about 1876, Gordon and Viola Davis brought land in the Town of Fremont and made a home for his family which consisted of a daughter Abbie Maria, and Sherman, who were born in New York, and Gordon who was born in the Town of York. Gordon remained on the farm until 1947 when he sold it. He was married to Viola Hannah Brown on May 20, 1901. To this couple were born seven children: Clare, deceased; Flossie, Mrs. Otto Schrnidtke; Doris, Mrs. Charles Schwanebeck; Ione, Mrs. Richard Miller; Arleigh; Donna, Mrs. Norman Freedlund; Lorraine, deceased. This farm now belongs to Milton Rand.

Hosea Whiston Davis and Nancy Bowman were married in Stockhold, New York, on April 13, 1863.
