Geise, H. O. (1958)
H. O. Geise of Neillsville has been
appointed chairman for Group I of the Wisconsin Bankers
Association, U. S. savings bonds committee.
Group I consist of 17 counties, including
Clark, in the Northwestern part of Wisconsin, and include 122 banks
and stations. Announcement of Mr. Geise’s appointment
to this volunteer post was made by its chairman, Walter Jensen,
president of the First Bank of Grantsburg, Grantsburg, and Past
President of the Wisconsin Bankers Association.
The committee met last week in Milwaukee
to plan the 1958-1959 bank programs in behalf of savings
bonds. Mr. Geise will work closely with bankers in Group I,
having an assigned goal this year of $8,384,535 in series E and H
savings bonds.
The banks issue savings bonds free, as a service to the citizens of their communities and the government. The new series E and H savings bonds earn 3 ¼% interests to maturity, and can now be purchased by anyone but commercial banks.
