Clark, Jennie (25 SEPT 1863-17 JUNE 1947)
Mrs. Francis Clark (nee Jennie E. Brasier) was born in Sheboygan county on Sept. 25, 1863. She came with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Brasier, to Loyal in 1880.
On Jan. 16, 1885, she was married to Tom B. Philpott. To this union were born four children, Grace, who died in 1893 at the age of seven years, Ralph Philpott of Loyal, Lacey of Loretta, and Alpha (Mrs. William Herrin) of Santa Cruz, Cal. Mr. Philpott died on Aug. 22, 1905.
On Aug. 29, 1023, Mrs. Philpott was married to Francis Clark. They lived in Loyal for a short time, then moved to Brando, Ia., where they made their home for eight years, when they returned to Loyal.
Mrs. Clark’s death, which occurred at Owen at about 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, was the result of old age and its complications.
Besides the sons and daughters mentioned above, she is survived by her husband, two brothers, Robert Bracier of Chippewa Falls and Ray Brasier of Hartford; two sisters, Mrs. Emily Huffman of Denver, Col., and Mrs. Harriet Fisher of Battle Creek, Mich; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. An aunt, Mrs. Lillie Lynn, of Loyal also survives.
Three sisters, Mrs. John Irvine and Lottie and Phoebe Brasier, and two brothers, Albon Brasier and an infant baby preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held in the Loyal Theatre at 2 p.m. last Friday. A. L. Smith of Milwaukee was the speaker. Pallbearers were Ted Sorensen, Emil Bredlau, Dan Castner, Arthur Schutte, Claude Catlin and Ed Haslow.
Those from away who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Lacey Philpott of Loretta, Robert Brasier of Chippewa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Brasier of Hartford, Mrs. Kenneth Dobson and children, Nahcy and Dennis of Menominee, Mich., Mrs. Henry Wichmann, Mrs. Arthur Joss and Mrs. Harry Trierweiler of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. John Irvine of Marshfield, and Mr. and Mrs. John Seslig and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Sorensen and son, and Miss Clara Funk of Withee.
The Tribune extends to the bereaved its sympathy in the loss of a beloved relative.
