Funeral services were conducted on
Wednesday from the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton for Hugh L.
Berg, 68,, who died Sunday evening following a heart attack.
The Rev. Virgil Holmes, pastor of the Methodist Church,
officiated. Burial was made in Windfall cemetery.
Mr. Berg was born November 13, 1889, in
Granton, and received his education in the country schools.
On March 15, 1911, he was married to Ethel Finnegan at Granton,
where they have resided since. He worked for a short time in
a bank and then became a rural mail carrier, a job he held for 40
years, until his recent retirement. He had served as village
clerk, and at he time of his death was a member of the Clark County
board of supervisors, and a member of the Granton Rotary Club.
He is survived by his wife; four sisters, Mrs. Peter (Lottie) Tauschak of Marshfield, Mrs. Elva Fenske of Chili, Mrs. Victor (Pearl) Cole of Black River Falls, and Mrs. Harold Hiles of Southgate, Cal.; and two brothers, Price Berg of Sullivan, Ind., and Vernon Berg of South Gate, Cal.
