V.C. Woelffer returned Monday from Lake Mills where he was called by the illness of his father.  Mr. Woelffer, Sr., died last Thursday and was buried Sunday.  Herman Woelffer was born in Saxony, Germany, and was 76 years and one month old.  He came to this country and took up the vocation of farming in Jefferson county at the age of 14 years.  He was united in marriage to Ernestine Michaelis in 1861, and to this union five children were born, three sons and two daughters.  For the past 16 years Mr. Woelffer had been a resident of Lake Mills.  He is survived by his five children.
