Pauline Reynard left by plane last Saturday for her home in New York City after spending a happy summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Picus, and her older sister, Mrs. Carl J. Pederson. Besides toddling around the countryside partying and visiting family, friends and relatives, she wrote the first draft of a book in collaboration with her father. As an established magazine feature writer and author of several Corporation histories, Miss Reynard supplied the writing know how, while her father supplied the story. It deals with the Life and Hard Time of William Picus, who itchy feet kept him moving his grass roots country store up and down the length and breadth of Minnesota and Wisconsin. By typewriter, tape recorder, three dozen lead pencils and an endless supply of Mrs. Picus’ inimitable chocolate fudge cake, this father-daughter writing team completed the first draft of the book in some two months. Miss Reynard plans to write the final draft this winter in New York.
