Marty, Lori Sue (Marriage - 15 August
1981)
The Rev. Gary Clark officiated at the
Neillsville United Church of Christ nuptials for Lori Sue Marty and
George Pichla, Jr., both of Wisconsin Rapids. The ceremonies
were held on the afternoon of Saturday, August 15.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs.
Fred Marty, Rt. 1, Granton, and Mr. and Mrs. George Pichla,
Wisconsin Rapids.
Cheryl Vechinski, a sister of the groom
from Wisconsin Rapids, was matron of honor. She was
joined by Sandy Bieneck, a sister of the bride from
Neillsville. Duane Marty, a brother of the bride of
Neillsville, was best man. He was joined by Roger Pierce, a
friend of the groom from Wisconsin Rapids. Ushering were
David Marty, a brother of the bride from Marshfield, and Kenny
Zarecki, a friend of the groom from Rudolph.
Serving as ringbearer was Roger Bieneck,
the bride’s nephew, Neillsville; Gina Vechinski, a niece of
the groom, Wisconsin Rapids, was flower girl.
"The Wedding Song" and "Follow Me" were
the musical selections offered at the service, performed by Lori
Anding and Deon Spangler.
The bride chose a gown of Chantilly lace
and organza featuring a Juliet-styled cap and walking-length
veil. She carried a bouquet of burgundy and yellow roses with
white sweet peas. Her attendants wore pleated gowns of yellow
and mauve with the matron of honor carrying yellow roses and
carnations and the attendant carrying a bouquet of burgundy and
mauve roses and carnations. The groom and his attendants were
attired in brown-trimmed beige tuxedos.
Following the service, a reception was
held at the Wildcat Inn and dance at the Silver Dome
Ballroom. The couple then left on a Wisconsin wedding
trip.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Pichla will make
their home in Wisconsin Rapids. She is a 1978 graduate of
Granton High School. He is a graduate of Assumption High
School in Wisconsin Rapids. Both are employed by Nekoosa
Papers, Inc., Port Edwards.
Prenuptial events included a shower hosted by Sandy Bieneck, Cheri Downer and Judy Hillert.
