Jessie R. Winkler, known as "Mo" to most,
26, of Granton died Thursday, March 18, 2010, as a result of
injuries sustained in a one-vehicle accident in rural Granton.
Jessie was born Nov. 8, 1983, in
Marshfield, and was a longtime resident of Granton. He
attended Granton schools and graduated from Granton High School in
2002. He worked as a concrete worker for Design
Concrete. Jessie was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing,
hunting, snowmobiling and four-wheeling. He also enjoyed
playing darts, pool and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Kevin and
Sarah Winkler of Granton; two sisters, Tina (Jon) Martinson of Eau
Claire and Renee (Nathan) Schroeder of Neillsville; one brother,
Shawn (Christina) Winkler of Granton; his paternal grandparents,
Tena Winkler of Green Bay and Bruce Winkler of Neillsville;
maternal grandfather, Ray Newman of Nekoosa; great-grandmother,
Elsie Winkler of Granton; three nieces, Abigail, Baylee and
KayLynn; three nephews, Payton, Hayden and Parker; and many aunts,
uncles and cousins.
Jessie was preceded in death by his
maternal grandmother, Dolores Newman; great-grandparents, Gordon
and Ella Sautner; great-grandfather, Helmuth Winkler; and a cousin,
Tracey Mohr.
Funeral services for Jessie were held at
11 a.m. Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at the Gesche Funeral Home in
Neillsville. Pastor Alan Dunham officiated. Visitation was
held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, March 22, at the Gesche Funeral
Home and again Tuesday morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial
was in the Zion American Lutheran Cemetery in Granton.
Serving as Casketbearers were: Jim
Newman, Bruce Vine, Jamie Vine, Willy Montgomery, Jon Peek, Andy
Bielke and honorary casket bearer, Johnny Elmhorst.
Memorials may be directed to
Jessie’s family for a donation at a later date.
The Gesche Funeral Home assisted
Jessie’s family with arrangements.
