Thuss, Charley (Record-breaking fish - 7
July 1912)
Last Sunday Charlie Thuss landed a record breaking muskellunge in Black River at the mouth of Mound creek. Charley was fishing from a boat and saw the big fellow but which resisted every effort to make him bite. Thuss finally hooked him in the back with a Dowagiac and the fight was on. After a long tussle Thuss finally got the fish and brought him to town. He weighed 22 pounds and measured 45 inches in length.
