Paul J. Bladl, Jr., 22, whose parents live on Route 1, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), recently was promoted to specialist third class while serving with the 4th Infantry Division in Germany.
Training received by the "Ivy" division, part of the U.S. Seventh Army, includes intensive maneuvers and realistic field problems.
Bladl, a mechanic with the 4th Reconnaissance Company, entered the army in March 1954, and arrived overseas the following November.
A 1951 graduate of Owen High School, he attended River Falls State College.
