Griffin, Tom (Marshall shot - 31 July
1912)
Wednesday morning Village Marshall Tom
Griffin was shot through the lungs by a pair of tramps, but it is
expected that he will recover. Griffin was locking the tramps
up in jail when one of them pulled a gun and shot him.
Saturday a stranger hired a livery rig from the Owen stable and skipped out with it. Sheriff Branford was notified of the theft and wired in all directions. The rig was found in the woods near Unity Tuesday.
