Tragsdorf, Frank (Serious accident - 1
Sept 1912)
Sunday Frank Tragsdorf met with a most serious and painful accident. He was at Frank Hemp’s in the afternoon and was amusing the children by swinging high in the air on the swing. He had attained a high momentum and had swung out until he was nearly 20 feet in the air. As the swing started on its backward course, Frank stooped down to a sitting posture. At that moment the swing ropes stretched, allowing his body to strike metal water shut off protruding above the lawn. The lower portion of Frank’s spine struck the shut off, cutting him quite badly and deeply. The services of a physician were hurriedly secured and the wound cared for, but while it is a most serious accident, it is hoped that Frank will experience no permanent injuries.
