A school bus was involved in an accident
with an automobile resulting in a fatality and the minor injuries
to five students aboard the bus on Monday, April 20, at
approximately 7:33 a.m.
Dead is James W. Lengyel, 66, of 4406 CTH
G, Stanley. The five injured students were transported to Victory
Memorial Hospital in Stanley.
The school bus carrying 18 students was eastbound on CTH V and Lengyel was northbound on CTH G. The school bus had stopped for a stop sign, pulled from the stop sign and hit Mr. Lengyel. Mr. Lengyel’s vehicle then went off the roadway hitting a power pole. The accident is still under investigation.
