Powe, W.P.D. (1893? - 11 MAR 1956)
Funeral services were held a week ago today for the Rev. W. P. D. Powe, 62, former pastor of the First Congregational Church, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), who suffered a stroke and died at his home in Jackson, Mich., on the 11th of March, 1956.
Before his retirement from the ministry about a year ago he had served as pastor of Plymouth and Sandstone Congregation Churches since September of 1949. Prior to that time he served as pastor here and in several other Wisconsin cities. During World Wars I and II he was a chaplain in the army, becoming a lieutenant colonel.
Surviving are his widow, Fern Lois; two sons, M/Sgt Walter Powe, Sand Bernardino, Calif., and Robert, Kalamazoo, Mich., two daughters, Mrs. Minetta Swadish, Salt Lake City, Utah, and Mrs. Eunice Jean Sanders, Bamberg, S.C., and 13 grandchildren.
