Flynn, Hazel (2 Oct 1912)
Guy C. Youmans and Miss Hazel Flynn were
united in marriage yesterday afternoon (Wednesday) by Rev.
Hendren. The ceremony was performed at 3 o’clock at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Sturdevant and was witnessed only by the
families of the young people. The bride wore a gown of
embroidered net over white silk. The Sturdevant home was
decorated in pink and white and the same color scheme was carried
out in the dinner which was served at the conclusion of the
ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Youmans then went to the home of the
groom already prepared on the Youmans farm east of the city where
they will take up housekeeping.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. James Flynn, is a graduate of the high school, an Eastern Star and a member of the Womans club. She is a most estimable young lady and commands a high place in the esteem of a large circle of friends here. The groom is one of the prominent young men of this city, being energetic and progressive and always being ready to assume any responsibility which would make for the development of the city and county. For a number of years he has successfully conducted the Youmans farms. The many friends of the young people are unanimous in their wishes for the future happiness and welfare of Mr. and Mrs. Youmans. Mr. Flynn of Merrillan and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Flynn of Altoona were here for the wedding.
