A horrible as well as sad accident occurred at the Henry Schlinsog home last Saturday noon.  Mrs. Schlinsog was engaged in getting dinner for a crew of threshers and took a large kettle of potatoes out on the back porch to drain.  The latter is somewhat elevated from the ground and the space underneath made a favorite place to play for their little 3-yr.-old daughter, Norma.  The mother not knowing of her whereabouts poured the boiling hot water directly upon the child, scalding it so badly that it died a short time afterwards.  The grief caused this parent can more easily be imagined than described.   The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon.  Deceased was the first born to Mr. and Mrs. Schlinsog.  The sympathy of the entire community is with them in their hour of bereavement. - Granton News
