Anderson, John (Fatal accident - 24 Dec
1912)
John Anderson met with an accident
Tuesday morning that resulted in death at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday
morning.
Mr. Anderson with Charley Santo and
Wallace Waterpool were delivering a piano to the home of H.H. Bryan
east of town. They had the instrument standing lengthwise on
the wagon and John and Wallace were steadying it while Santo was
driving. While going along Mill street the front wheel struck
a root in the track throwing Mr. Anderson out onto the ground and
the piano on top of him. The edge of the piano struck him
across the abdomen. Santo and Waterpool lifted it off from
him and he was assisted to a nearby house and Dr. Frisbie
called.
The doctor made a careful examination and
although Mr. Anderson seemed to be suffering severely could find
nothing to show that he was dangerously injured. He was taken
to his home and for the first few hours there were no indications
that he was fatally hurt and not until about ten minutes before he
died was there any great danger felt. He was then taken
suddenly worse and soon passed away.
The sudden death of Mr. Anderson is a severe blow to his wife and relatives and to his business and personal friends. Although a young man he was at the head of the John Anderson company, dealers in general merchandise, and had a business reputation that was second to none in the state. - Fairchild Observer
