Downen, LomaJean (Baillies) (May 9, 1921 - April 12, 2010) 
 

LomaJean (Baillies) Downen, 88, of Cambria died Monday, April 12, 2010, at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.   
 

LomaJean was born May 9, 1921, in Cambria, the daughter of John Hamilton Jr. and Margaret Ellen (Jones) Baillies. She was a 1939 graduate of Fountain City Business College.   
 

After college, she worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers during World War II. She also worked as a court stenographer, bank cashier and owned and operated Downen Realty from her home.   
 

 She married James Thomas Downen on May 10 1947, in Cambria.   
 

LomaJean was active with the Girl Scouts and First Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Cambria Women’s Club.   
 

LomaJean is survived by her children, Terry Downen of Colby, and Linda Jean Wood of Appleton; and two grandchildren.   
 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, June Gilmore.   
 

A celebration of life service was held April 16 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cambria.  Interment followed in the Cambria Cemetery.
