She was a devout Catholic and a member of Saint John’s and Sacred Heart Catholic Churches. She was a long-time member of the Parish Council of Catholic Women at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  After her retirement, she continued to share her time and talent as a volunteer Eucharistic Minister at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, the House of the Dove and for home-bound parishioners of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Margaret enjoyed sewing, traveling, and baking and cooking favorite treats for family and friends.  Margaret was a Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout leader, and Camp Fire Girl Leader.  Margaret remained in close touch with nursing friends joining in monthly luncheon dates until her death.  Margaret considered the 8th Air Corp Reunion Group as extended family and enjoyed the company of these precious friends on trips throughout the United States and Europe.

In Memory:

A Nurse’s Prayer

Give me strength and wisdom,

When others need my touch;

A soothing word to speak to them,

Their hearts yearn for so much.

Give me joy and laughter,

To lift a weary soul

Pour in me compassion,

To make the broken whole.

Give me gentle healing hands,

For those left in my care;

A blessing to those who need me,

This is a Nurse’s Prayer.
