Elmhorst, Gary Lee (12 November 1978 - 6 April 2010) 
 

Gary Lee Elmhorst, 31, of Wisconsin Rapids, formerly of Neillsville, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 in Wisconsin Rapids. 
 

Gary was born Nov. 12, 1978, in Neillsville to Donald and Bonnie (Strangfeld) Elmhorst.  He was employed at Northern Steel Castings in Wisconsin Rapids.  Gary was a graduate of Neillsville High School in 1997 and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. 
 

Gary was a wonderful father and son, who would always lend a hand to anyone. He was a talented mechanic and bodywork specialist, enjoyed gardening and fixing things around the house with Julie.  He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and a #17 NASCAR fan, and he enjoyed golfing with family members. 
 

Gary is survived by his parents, Donald and Bonnie Elmhorst of Neillsville; fiancée, Julie Hart of Wisconsin Rapids; son, Xavier Elmhorst; two brothers, Wayne Elmhorst and Randy (Katie) Elmhorst of Neillsville.  He is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Josephine Strangfeld of Neillsville; god parents, Herbie and Betty Nemitz; and other nieces and nephews.  
 

Gary was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert and Pearl Elmhorst; maternal grandfather, William Strangfeld; and uncles, Donald Strangfeld and Ray Elmhorst. 
 

"He will be forever missed by so many." 
 

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church in Pine Valley. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. 
 

Pallbearers will be Rocky Elmhorst, Victor Elmhorst, Steve Oldham, Jeffrey Hart, Joshua Hart and Charlie Schutz.  Honorary pallbearers are Wayne, Randy and Sam Bautch.
