Longwood Township (Longwood Store Burns - 6 Jan 1913)
On Monday night, Jan. 6th, the large two story building owned and occupied by G.B. Andrews as a general store and dwelling, burned to the ground. The fire was discovered by Mrs. Andrews about 12 o’clock at night and she quickly awakened Mr. Andrews and her brother and the three got out of the burning building with but scant wearing apparel. In two hours time the building was a smoking ruins. The loss was estimated at about $7,000, there being $5,000 insurance on the building and stock.
